Commercial films serve as a bridge between creativity and commerce, where passion meets purpose. Each project represents a unique blend of artistic vision and strategic goals and the challenge is to create content that not only meets commercial objectives but also engages and inspires the audience. In my work, I strive to balance these elements, crafting films that are both visually compelling and purpose-driven. Every commercial is an opportunity to tell a meaningful story while achieving the client’s goals, making the experience both dynamic and rewarding.

"POOL POP No. 1 a.k.a. Going Away" by Thod1s is a raw and emotional reflection on love, loss, and longing. Filmed in the eerie setting of an abandoned spa in a hotel with just a small crew, the video perfectly mirrors the haunting lyrics. Thod1s pours their heart into lines like ‘I’m gonna unplug my heart from yours,’ capturing the pain of separation and the exhaustion of constantly leaving. The emptiness of the spa echoes the deep emotions of the song, as if the walls themselves hold the stories of heartbreak. It’s a call to find closure and come home.

This project is a return to the beauty of analog film. The grainy textures and rich, dreamlike visuals create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and mysterious. Every frame holds weight, every shot feels like a small, deliberate piece of art. It's a true celebration of filmmaking—stripped down, hands-on, and full of creativity.

"Reflection" by Melissa Audrey, born from a true indie spirit, was brought to life in just two days in a small studio under the Seoi Collective, directed by Jasmin Luu. Despite the low budget, this project radiates depth - proof that creativity thrives even with limited resources. The rich, deep colors of the video capture the emotional intensity of the track, reflecting the mood of introspection and transformation. It's all about finding that connection, the reflection of your true self, and embracing the beauty of growth.

"Fremde in Deutschland" is a powerful documentary that delves into the experience of navigating life in a new country. Through intimate reflections and evocative scenes, it captures the emotional journey of facing challenges, adapting to unfamiliar surroundings, and seeking a sense of belonging. The film subtly hints at deeper personal struggles, offering a poignant exploration of resilience and identity. It’s a moving portrayal of the quest for connection and understanding in a foreign land.

Charismatic Nolan Bentley wakes up in the middle of a remote forest, tied to a tree with no recollection of how he got there. With his time relentlessly running out, a mysterious stranger appears, forcing Nolan to finally reckon with the demons of his past. As he fights to survive, he must find a way out of his nightmare before it’s too late.

I had the privilege of working on this incredible project during postproduction. The process of bringing the intense visuals to life, enhancing the mood and atmosphere of each scene, was a deeply rewarding experience.

Marc Schöllermann did an excellent job of holding this unique story together, while allowing everyone the freedom to contribute their creativity. This collaborative approach transformed a horrifying and mysterious tale into a compelling film that’s both captivating and enjoyable.

I’m truly grateful to have been a part of this project. It was a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a film that not only grips the audience with its suspense but also leaves a lasting impression visually. The working atmosphere was inspiring, and it’s been a joy to see the final product come together.

// Border Conversation

In the face of a wave of refugees, Poland and Belarus closed all border crossings in November 2021. For men, women, and children fleeing, the border area becomes a life-threatening trap. Many are caught in a no man's land, in the forests outside the gates of the EU, in the middle of winter. Jonathan Brunner accompanies people in this border region, but on the Polish side, where activists are trying to mitigate the humanitarian disaster through aid efforts.

BORDER CONVERSATIONS shows the helplessness of the Polish activists in a straightforward and emotionally charged way. With a smartphone always in hand and in direct contact with those in need, they sort clothes, food, and medicine, drive aimlessly up and down the border, and camp out for hours at rest stops out of sheer desperation. As long as the migrants can't cross the border, their fate is almost hopeless. On top of this, some have lost faith in humanity and, consumed by distrust, prefer to keep their location secret for fear of being deceived by authorities with false aid offers.

The text messages displayed in the film become distressing stories that more than once end abruptly in a telling silence from the people in no man's land. So near, yet so far, this extraordinary documentary shows that border fences and patrols create suffering and misfortune on both sides, but humanity never blocks the way.
